What are your favourite Essential Oils ?

There are so many to choose from – do you like citrus, woody, earthy, herbaceous, floral, spicy….? I love rosemary, patchouli, juniper berry, cardamon and cinnamon.

When I started making soap two years ago I liked but not loved rose, and lavender essential oils. I can remember it quite clearly as I would put off or avoid making the batches with these scents. 

I had a friend, and also someone where I worked at the time, asked me if they could have a rose soap – I thought … will I let them know I will not be making it or should I do it ?... that was the question!  I made the rose soap batch reluctantly, poured it into the mould, it was left to cure, then handcut, and left to dry for 8 weeks.

A few more weeks went by and to my surprise I started to like the rose. I also now love lavender, especially French Lavender!
